Premium Sesame Seeds Supplier in Tanzania

Natural whitish sesame seeds from Tanzania's central and southern growing regions — sortex-cleaned to 99/1 grade with high oil content for hullers, oil crushers and traders across Asia and the Middle East.

Product Overview

Sesame is one of Tanzania's most valuable cash crops, cultivated by smallholders across the central corridor and southern regions. Tanzanian natural sesame is recognised for its bright whitish colour, high oil content and reliable hulling performance — qualities that keep hullers in Turkey, the Middle East and Asia returning each season.

Agro Farm's sesame is machine-cleaned, destoned and sortex colour-sorted to 99/1 grade: 99% purity with admixture under 1%. For hulling buyers we select lots with the size uniformity and coat characteristics that hull cleanly; for crushers we prioritise oil content.

Every export lot is lab-verified for purity, moisture and oil content before bagging, and the analysis certificate travels with the shipping documents. Standard packing is 25 kg or 50 kg PP bags, container-stuffed at Dar es Salaam.

The hulling industry's shift toward mechanised, high-throughput plants has raised the bar on raw seed uniformity — and that plays to Tanzania's strengths. Our sortex-cleaned, size-consistent lots feed modern hulling lines with fewer rejects and better whiteness in the hulled output, which is why hullers who trial Tanzanian origin tend to stay with it.

Quality Assurance

Sesame quality turns on purity, moisture and oil content. Our cleaning line removes dust, stones and discoloured seeds; sortex sorters eject off-colour grains; and lab analysis confirms purity, admixture, moisture and oil content for every export lot.

For buyers with strict intake protocols, third-party inspection and additional lab panels (including salmonella screening for food-grade buyers) can be arranged.

Sourcing Season & Buying Tips

The main Tanzanian sesame harvest falls roughly June to August. Buying stations fill quickly once harvest starts, and the best-sorted, brightest lots move first — hullers who contract early get first selection of hull-grade material.

We recommend opening discussions in May for forward contracting. Post-harvest, from September onward, availability narrows and prices typically firm, so late buyers pay for delay as well as for the seed.

Who Buys Sesame Seeds

Shipping & Logistics

Sesame sails from Dar es Salaam to its main markets on fast, frequent services: roughly 10–16 days to Jebel Ali and Jeddah, 2–3 weeks to Nhava Sheva, and 3–4 weeks to East Asian ports. We use clean, dry, food-grade containers — sesame picks up odours readily, so it is never co-loaded with aromatic or chemical cargo. Sailing schedules and container numbers are shared at stuffing, and documents follow by email the same week.

Frequently Asked Questions

What grades of sesame do you supply?

Natural whitish sesame in 99/1 sortex as standard, with 98/2 available. Hull-grade lots are selected separately for hulling buyers.

What oil content can we expect?

Minimum 48%, verified by lab analysis per lot. Higher oil-content selection is possible for crusher contracts.

When is the Tanzanian sesame season?

Harvest generally runs June to August. Contracting forward before harvest secures the best allocation and pricing.

What is the minimum order?

One 20-foot container — roughly 19 MT in 50 kg bags.

Do you supply hulled sesame?

Our standard export is natural (unhulled) sesame. Hulled sesame can be discussed for committed volumes.

How is purity verified?

Sortex colour sorting plus lab analysis for purity, admixture and moisture on every export lot — certificates included with documents.

What packaging options exist?

25 kg or 50 kg PP bags as standard; buyer-printed bags and jumbo bags on request.

Which ports do you ship to?

We ship worldwide from Dar es Salaam — Jebel Ali, Jeddah, Nhava Sheva, Haiphong, Qingdao and Mediterranean ports are frequent destinations.
