Bulk Sisal Fibre Supplier in Tanzania

Brush-cleaned Tanzanian sisal fibre in 3L, UG and SSUG grades — hydraulically pressed into 250 kg bales for rope, twine, carpet, geotextile and composite manufacturers worldwide.

Product Overview

Tanzania is the world's leading producer of sisal, and the estates of Tanga and Morogoro have grown and decorticated it for over a century. Sisal's long, strong, biodegradable fibre remains unmatched for baler twine, rope and a growing range of natural-fibre composites.

Our fibre is brushed and graded to the trade's standard grades: 3L long-line fibre for the highest-value spinning and rope work, UG undergrade for general industrial use, and SSUG for lower-grade applications. Grade is confirmed by inspection before shipment — sisal is bought on grade, and we grade honestly.

Bales are hydraulically pressed to approximately 250 kg and strapped for dense container loading: roughly 100 bales to a 40-foot container. Shipments leave from Dar es Salaam with full export documentation.

Beyond its traditional rope and twine markets, sisal is finding new life in natural-fibre composites for the automotive and construction industries, where manufacturers seek renewable alternatives to synthetics. Tanzanian estates, with a century of grading discipline behind them, supply the consistent 3L fibre those technical applications demand — and we see this as the growth market for the next decade.

Quality Assurance

Sisal quality is grade conformity, cleanliness and dryness. We inspect fibre length, brushing quality and trash content per grade, and verify bales are dry before loading — damp bales in a sealed container are a claim waiting to happen.

Independent inspection of grade and bale condition can be arranged for buyers who require it.

Sourcing Season & Buying Tips

Sisal is harvested year-round on Tanzania's estates — leaves are cut continuously, decorticated, brushed and graded without a single harvest season. That makes sisal one of the most reliably available Tanzanian exports.

Grade mix is the variable to manage: 3L long-line fibre is produced in smaller proportion than UG, so large 3L orders benefit from forward scheduling with the estates. Tell us your annual grade mix and we will programme supply accordingly.

Who Buys Sisal Fibre

Shipping & Logistics

Pressed sisal bales are dense, stackable cargo: a 40-foot container takes about 100 bales (25 MT). From Dar es Salaam, expect roughly 4–6 weeks to European ports, 3–5 weeks to Asia, and shorter to regional destinations. Bales are strapped and stowed to prevent shifting, and grade markings per bale let your warehouse verify the mix on arrival against the packing list.
